Venue Layout

The Loft is a really cool venue, ideal for decaDancing. It has plenty of dance space with wooden flooring and a great sound system. There is one main dance area, leading into a seating area with some more room for dancing. This then leads through to the bar and further seating. Right at the back of the venue is a little room which has more comfy seating and an intimate dance area which we will initially use for milonga and later on for slow and sexy blues. There is also a staffed cloakroom for your coats and bags.

(Please note, the wooden floor area in the first picture is not the main dance area!  It is at the other end of the venue and much bigger!)
Drinking and Eating

The bar is wide, well stocked and very reasonably priced. You can get a pint of Fosters for £2.50 and a glass of wine for £3. It's even cheaper by the bottle from only £11. The full bar and wine lists are attached below. Whilst we aren't encouraging irresponsible drinking or drink driving, we would love you to make use of the bar. Otherwise we may end up with higher rents and higher ticket prices (not desirable!). We are also considering making coffees available for purchase after midnight. Let us know if you would be interested in this.

Food is available downstairs in the Smugglers Bar until 9pm (when we open our doors). Full menu attached below. They serve great value snacks and mains.  The burgers are legendary and will set you up nicely for a long night of dancing. If there is sufficient demand they may even keep the kitchen open a little longer and possibly serve the food upstairs in our venue. Please email us if you would be interested in this.

GETTING HERE
Car
Brighton like any town centre has a finite number of free parking spots - but they can be found! There are usually spaces further down madeira drive (seafront) and there are often free bays just off Old Steine near Pool Valley and also before St James Street (near Taj).

Another option if you want to avoid ncp prices is to park further out. Going North towards Preston Park you can find lots of free off road parking and going into Hove you will find meter bays which will usually be free after 8pm.

Take advantage of all-night buses or jump in a cab to collect your car

Alternatively if you cant be bothered to find a free spot there are plenty of ncp's close by. It will only cost about £5 or £6 to park in one of these.

Rail
Train station is only 8-10 minutes stroll. Trains are incredibly frequent from most areas. Trains from London leave from a number of stations including Victoria, London Bridge, Kings X, Blackfriars. For more info go to http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

Bus
Nearly every bus into Brighton stops less than 2 minutes walk from the Loft. Churchill Square or North Street are the closest stops.

Coach
There is a very good coach service from London Victoria. Although it takes a bit longer than the train, it is as cheap as chips (current deals available as low as £6 return!)http://www.nationalexpress.com/bp/b2.cfm?id=108599434). Even better the Pool Valley coach station is literally 2 minutes walk away from the venue.
